Children of God listen. "Your proofs and my proofs, will never change who and what God is and will be". Whether we've seen proofs or not, God remains God. We have to note that for anyone to say he's a Christian, s/he must have had convictions about God, through the help of the Holy Spirit. But those that lack this conviction are those that just saw themselves as Christians, without knowing why.
The truth is, you don't become what you don't know. Doing that is a crime, and you'll be charged. Now let me ask you, if you claim to be a lawyer and you're caught, what do you think will happen? You'll be arrested by the Police, they'll charge you to court. The court also will hand you over back to the police.
This is what happens in the spiritual too. The devil will manhandle and rumple you, just like the police. He'll then present your case before God, that you're claiming what(Christian) you're not. The Righteous Judge will confirm that what he said was true, and give verdict. Devil will then continue from where he stopped.

Conclusion:
We need the Holy Spirit to know who God is, not proofs. And when you keep looking for proofs, you'll be easily deceived.
