What can end friendships:
11. Strive/fight:
Just as we said yesterday, Paul and Barnabas strived, and their striving was very strong, but not strong enough to divide the Apostles. They maintained their conflicts on a personal level, not to inflict others with their wahala.
Because there are strives that will not just divide the friend, but the entire people connected to them directly or indirectly.
This is why the present Church is suffering today. We have a whole lot of sympathizers. When two brethren jejely quarrels, the entire Church will divide into twain. You'll be hearing "it's the fault of Paul!" Another "it's the fault of Barnabas!" "Why shouldn't Mark go with them, why wouldn't Paul forgive him, infact is the fault of Paul!" "It's not Paul's fault anywhere, it's Barnabas' he knew that his brother is not trustworthy. Is he the only brother in this place?"
Before you know it, the Church divides. But Reading Acts 15, Bible didn't tell us that the Church divided, instead the Church handed him over to the Spirit of God. This is a Church their level of understanding is beyond nowadays.
A group(family, organization, Church, community, etc) that doesn't allow contention between individuals to divide them is very wise.
Conclusion:
Though it was not recorded in the Scripture, what happened between Paul and Barnabas was what Satan used to tempt the strength of the early Church, and they overcame.
If that happens now, can the present Church do likewise?
