After telling everyone good-bye, he went up into the hills by himself to pray.

Here's My Take: 

Intro.

Goodbye is not only witnessed in friendships/relationships between opposite sex as the case maybe.

In ministries today, we have seen lots of goodbye thing been played out

. Where an upcoming minister will part ways with his boss and never look back again.

Nothing will concerns his ministry and that of his boss again. They can go as long as verbally abusing one another openly

But initially they were together

, running things in common, with so much Trust and Love.

When the young minister could defend his boss and his ministry with his life. Until their goodbye.

In ministry goodbye is a process of enlargement;

a process of maturity. And not a time of fight and power tussle. It encourages one to grow. Because staying with your boss won't enlarge you. It's like a tree under a big tree, the shades of the big tree's leaves will cause it not to grow and enlarge. But when it's on its own, it will receive the adequate sunlight and nutrients to grow well. That's the picture of goodbye ministerially. 

Conclusion:

When we translate goodbye to our local languages, it will help us not to misunderstand it. It's just a greeting, not a quarrel.
