A If anyone thinks himself to be religious [scrupulously observant of the rituals of his faith], and does not control his tongue but deludes his own heart, this person’s religion is worthless (futile, barren).

Here's My Take: 

Why do people Camouflage?

8. Because of Religion.

Religion has a driving power, which made it to have full control over people; learned and illiterates.

If you see how some persons react when you talk about their religion, you'll wonder if they're the founders of that sect. And because of that full control, it's easy for someone to be manipulated. The person that act as the head of that religion will then be using their Believers to do wickedness.

Now let this be known to all and sundry, Christianity is not a religion and can never be. If you've already taken it as a religion, remove it from your mind. It's not.

Christianity is a lifestyle, an attitude, a character, a behavior, a pattern of life, etc. Because it affects the way you dress, talk, eat, look, dress, sit, walk, work, live, laugh, etc.

When one has the life of Christ in him/her, there are things that shouldn't be seen in him/her. But when those things began to show up, then something is wrong and amendment should be carried out immediately. That's why, a provision for rising after a fall was made. 

Conclusion:

Let not yourself be carried away by Religion. Instead be carried by the Spirit of God.
