Many Old Prophets didn't know that they can actually train their body(mind, soul and spirit) so that they can remain relevant. Just as athletes train and build themselves, so do we. This is one of the reasons why Bro Paul said "All athletes are disciplined in their training...training it to do what it should". 1 Corinthians 9:25‭a, ‬27 NLT

The body is mortal and it requires daily training, same with the soul and spirit. When they are trained, they'll become active and do what they should do.

A Nigerian preacher, Apostle Selman said that after his yearly program called koinonia, he'll go back and download all the messages he'd preached and listened to them one after the other. So that those messages will sink in and rebuild him too. He believed that those messages will keep people burning, and he doesn't want to be left out. I believe from listening to those messages, he'll see his errors and also his kudos, then he'll take adequate correction. And those messages will impact him too.

That's example of a man that want to remain relevant. With this attitude, he'll never get dried. It shows that he has messages of his own and he listens to them as well. Old Prophets doesn't check how well but how far. They'll keep looking at the number of years they've been on that seat not the number of lives transformed.

Conclusion:

The capabilities of a man is determined when the ball is in his court and not when it's in someone else's.
