Topic: The Old Prophet 2
Word: 1 Kings 13:11 AMP
Now there was an old prophet living in Bethel; and his sons came and told him everything that the man of God had done that day in Bethel; they also told their father the words which he had spoken to the king.
Here's My Take:

Still from yesterday's post...
Due to the Old Prophet's inactiveness, God sent a Young Man of God. So, when the Old Prophet came back, he was told everything that happened; how the Young MOG spoke against the alter; how King Joroboam's hand withered; how he refused to eat what was presented to him and so on.
All these happened while he was still the Angel of the Lord at Bethel, though it happened while he was out. Yet it didn't open his eyes; he didn't realize that there's fire on the mountain.
He didn't seek for God's mercy and forgiveness; he didn't go on his knees asking for a fresh Glory(outpour of his presence). He didn't do anything at all to remain relevant, what he did was to ask for the direction of the Young MOG. He also didn't go there to find out more "thus says the Lord" or to get solution. But he went to destroy the destiny of the young man.
It's sad to note that "The Old Prophets" are around you and I. They're not actually old by age but by ministry. They claim to be born again before you were born; to be in the ministry before you repented, yet their relevance are diminishing. They do not want to seek counsel or retrace their steps, instead they complain and murmur when they see a younger minister doing exploit. That's why they'll do everything within their power to stop you(Younger ministers)

Conclusion:
Old Prophets which way una dey?
Relevance in the Kingdom is personal decisions, coupled with how one yielded to the leading(leadership) of the Holy Spirit. It's not what you fight for or cajole yourself into. And remember, nobody obstructed(do) anybody.
