Topic: THE DIRECTION - Ministerial Direction
Word: Proverbs 22:6 KJV
“Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Here's My Take:
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT MINISTERIAL DIRECTION:
It helps distinguish ministry from personal ambition.
This is a very important one.
Not everything people call ministry is necessarily ministry. Sometimes ambition, recognition, popularity, money, or the desire for influence can disguise itself as ministry.
Direction constantly brings the minister back to the question: “Am I building God's assignment or building my own name?”
Many are actually building their own name instead of God's. Essence of ministry is not about building empire or building legacy that will outlive your existence. It's all about Glorifying God, which at the end God will elevate the minister. The desire for 'self' has lured many into making wealth instead of doing the assignment (ministry).
Ministerial Direction teaches succession and mentorship.
A healthy ministry should not be built around one person forever.
Ministerial direction should help a leader recognize people to train, empower, and eventually release.
Conclusion:
Ministry is a call and every sense of it should be appreciated because it's a privilege.
Song:
You have won the victory
Hallelujah
You have won it all for me
Death could not hold you down
You are the risen king
Seated in majesty
You are the risen king
Prayer:
Lord give us a clear direction of our ministries. In Jesus name. Amen.
