Here's My Take:
Ministerial Direction: Ministerial Direction is the direction that guides people on how to lead, serve, and function effectively in ministry. In Christianity, we understand the importance of ministry; therefore, it is not out of place to seek guidance and counsel on how to navigate it.
There are people who started ministry with great passion but lasted only a few years before they could no longer continue. It was not necessarily because they were not called, nor was it because they were bad people. In many cases, it was largely due to a lack of direction.
“Having good gifts and a good posture without proper direction can eventually lead to disaster. So many gifts have been wasted because they lacked the direction necessary to manage and sustain them.”
One of the greatest tragedies of life is to live without direction. Ministerial Direction brings us to the knowledge of what to do, how to do it, when to do it, and where to do it. It reshapes our minds to focus on the most important areas of our calling while helping other things fall into their proper places.
It also helps us recognize and manage our weaknesses. No minister is perfect, and understanding our limitations is part of understanding our assignment. Ministerial Direction helps us know when to lead, when to serve, when to delegate, when to seek counsel, and when to allow others to function in their areas of grace.
Conclusion:
Ministerial Direction guides, helps, and trains us to become more effective in our assignments. It keeps us informed, organized, focused, and properly positioned to fulfill the specific ministry entrusted to us.
