Word: Philippians 2:2-3 NIV
[2] then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. [3] Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.
Here's My Take:
WHY DO PEOPLE CROSS SPIRITUAL BOUNDARY:
6. Selfishness: Ananias and Sapphira was a typical example of selfish people. The Bible said "Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, and laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.
But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, and kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet. Acts 4:34-37 KJV. The question is, why bring the money, when they knew they ain't gonna bring them all?!
Conclusion:
Rules of life..."don't take what you can't give back" "avoid starting what you know you won't finish" "don't do because someone else did" "don't do to impress"
Song:
I will lift up mine eyes to the hills
From whence cometh my help
My help cometh from the Lord
The Lord which made heaven and earth
He said he would not suffer thy foot
Thy foot to be moved
The Lord which keepeth thee
He will not slumber nor sleep
Oh the Lord is thy keeper
The Lord is thy shade
Upon thy right hand
Upon thy right hand
No, the sun shall not smite thee by day
Nor the moon by night
He shall preserve thy soul
Even forever more
My help, my help, my help
All of my help cometh from the Lord
Prayer:
Father may I not ruled by selfishness in Jesus name. Amen.
