GOODBYE(Why Do People Say Goodbye:)

Topic: GOOD BYE

Word: Genesis 13:6‭-‬8 NLT

But the land could not support both Abram and Lot with all their flocks and herds living so close together. So disputes broke out between the herdsmen of Abram and Lot. Finally Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not allow this conflict to come between us or our herdsmen.

Here's My Take:

Why do people say goodbye?

1. When they're tired of you:

There's this secret people doesn't know about friendships. Friendship is like a moving/running engine. Remember I didn't say friends, I said friendship. It is like a moving engine, and it requires check and maintenance, just like a machine does. When you run it for a while, you check and maintain it.

This could be done through encouragements, one on one discussion of way forward. Spiritually discerning and helping out on their weaknesses. Rebuking in Love and with respect. Praying for one another. Etc.

Unless otherwise discouraged by such a person.

But when the people involved don't check and maintain that friendship, they will surely get tired of such friendship. The friendship will end in waving of hands or handshake, when you see each other. That's when you'll hear that two best friends have turned worst enemies and so on.

When there's no growth in that friendship,

when there's no development and enlargement in that relationship, everyone involved will get tired. Imagine you doing a particular thing everytime, you'll surely get bored and wanna change style.

Now ask yourself why is it that those friendships

we kept in school days, not all of them remained till date? They naturally died, because we neglected their maintenance.

Conclusion:

The challenge we are having today is we don't know the difference between laughing_group(jackasses), acquaintances and friends. We always concludes that anyone that laughs with us is our friend. But that's not true.

Song:

Lord Jesus Saving

Lord Jesus Helping

Lord Jesus Lifting Me

Keeps doing Good

Keeps Breaking Grounds

Keeps Blowing Mind

What you’ve done for me

Nobody else can do

Afo’moro Itoro Yeeh  ah

Prayer:

Father help me to keep and maintain my friendships and my friendships to drop fresh oil everyday in my life. Amen.
