We'll look at some verses of the Scripture concerning The Old Prophets who sit to pass judgement on matters, even spiritual matters. Which one of their reasons is to test or try.

The Gospels often refer to the Sadducees and Pharisees, as Jesus was in almost constant conflict with them. These two sets of persons comprised the ruling class of Jews in Israel. Though they have some similarities between them and important differences between them as well.

Now the Pharisees and Sadducees came up, and testing Jesus [to get something to use against Him], they asked Him to show them a sign from heaven [which would support His divine authority]. But He replied to them, “ When it is evening, you say, ‘ It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’  And in the morning, ‘ It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and has a threatening look.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but cannot interpret the signs of the times? An evil and [morally] unfaithful generation craves a [miraculous] sign; but no sign will be given to it, except the sign of [the prophet] Jonah.” Then He left them and went away.

Matthew 16:1‭-‬4 AMP

These calibers of men are everywhere; in our Churches and Offices. They don't joke with the word 'WHY'. When you're in a circle where WHY is their daily routine, just know that you have entered. Because they'll WHY everything you say or do, not minding where and who surrounded you. Just like the Pharisees and Sadducees, the old Prophets will obstruct your meeting/fellowship just to ask you WHY??

Conclusion:

The essence of this teaching is to remind us that we should be careful where we are, what we say and who we said that to. Because The Old Prophets are everywhere.
