Topic: THE GOLIATH
Word: 1 Samuel 17:4 KJV
“And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.”
Here's My Take:
WHO IS THE GOLIATH TO YOU?
2. Giant (1 Samuel 17:4-7):
The giantness of Goliath is not for the benefit of the people but for his own benefits and glory. Because Goliath has been a champion, he will do everything it takes to remain a champion. The Bible said that while the battle line was drawn between the Philistines and the Israelites, he came out of the camp to show himself.
For me, he didn't do that solely because of his people. Rather he did that to maintain his status. Though he was a Philistine, yet he wants to keep his title: the champion. The problem of Africa today is the indirect colonization from the West. One may think that the aids they are giving to Africa is for the benefit of Africa, but that's not it.
Just like Goliath, every military intervention, every aid, every help rendered to Africa is for their gain. Directly or indirectly, they will gain more than they have helped. Goliath came out to fight because he wanted to maintain his name, not solely for the Philistines. If not, he would have presented the King, and then stand by him.
Conclusion:
Not only enemies are afraid of Goliath, even those within are scared of him. That's why Goliath cannot be trusted.

When things go wrong, He'll make them right
And the God of the good times, is still God in the bad times
The God of the day, is still God in the night
Prayer:
Oh Lord remove any Goliath holding our society hostage. In Jesus name. Amen.
