Topic: THE GOLIATH
Word: 1 Samuel 17:4 KJV
“And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.”
Here's My Take:
WHO IS THE GOLIATH TO YOU?
4. A Talkative (1 Sam. 17:8-11; 42-44):
While going through this Scripture again, I saw this other dimension of Goliath. It's quite funny, but it's just something we see around us. Though Goliath was a champion, he talked too much. There are so many people whose weakness is their mouth. They can withstand lust, greed, and all kinds of bad habits, but their mouth is porous. Their mouth is like a pump without a valve.
A real champion doesn't talk too much. He allows his skills and abilities to speak for him. A man can be accessed through his speeches.
1 Samuel 17:23 NIV
“As David was talking with Israel's soldiers, Goliath, the Philistine champion from Gath, stepped out from his lines and shouted his usual defiance, and David heard it.”
As Goliath spoke, David assessed and found that he could be defeated. In fact, it was Goliath that showed David how to kill him! David was just a young shepherd; he never knew that one could be killed and his body fed to the fowls of the air, until he met Goliath.
To be continued...
Conclusion:
A man can be accessed by his words.
In the multitude of talking, there is unsafety.
