Topic: THE GOLIATH
Word: 1 Samuel 17:4 KJV
“And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.”
Here's My Take:
WHO IS THE GOLIATH TO YOU?
4. Opposition (1 Samuel 17:1-11):
The story of Goliath is the story of a nation that faces strong opposition. And the strong opposition, knowing how vulnerable this nation was, threatened and terrified them for forty days. After forty days, a young handsome boy came from nowhere and challenged him. But because the boy didn't look like a warrior, he belittled him. Yet, what he looked down on was what killed him, and who he looked down on became who destroyed him.
Oppositions are everywhere. There are people who are not satisfied with what you have become. There are some who wished they were in your position, but because they are not the ones, they oppose you.
Growing up, we used to think that opposition is different political parties, until I realized that opposition has no banner or billboards. It's simply someone who's fighting you; someone who intends to stop you; someone whose happiness makes him or her uncomfortable—not necessarily to take your position, but to ensure you're not there, and instead, another person stays there.
Conclusion:
Any man without opposition has no future. Anyone without opposition is no longer useful. Even the meekest man in the Bible had oppositions.
Song
You're the one for me
You're the one for me
You are the reason I live
You're the one for me
You're the one for me
Why should I fear when I have You
Surrounded by your love
Your everlasting love
Why should I care what people say
'Cause they don't know
What you mean to me
Prayer:
Oh Lord oppose every opposition to my life, family and my destiny in Jesus name. Amen.
