WHO IS THE GOLIATH TO YOU?
4. Opposition(1 Samuel 17:1-11): Yesterday we were told that opposition is everywhere. Because there are people who are not satisfied with what you have become. They get uneasy with your progress and successes. Just yesterday I saw a clip trending on social media about a 3yrs old boy. From the multiple clips online, you could see the exceptional 3yrs old boy playing football with his age mates and even with those older than him. The boy was very skillful and couldn't let anyone touch the ball as he scored multiple goals.
Reports alleged that the parents of the other boys became unhappy with the whole situation and called Police for the 3yrs old boy and his parents. Other reports alleged that the Police was called because his parents were unruly. The official's account and the parents' account differ. The police evidence supports the fact that the call concerned a dispute involving the parents and league officials; it does not establish that the boy was deliberately targeted out of jealousy.
Well we will wait for the league's review before deciding who was at fault. But till then, I have this to say. Every great achievement or performance must attract opposition; both in football, in politics or in ministry. But don't let your opposition stop you.
Conclusion:
There's no Glory, greatness or achievement without opposition. Opposition is like a scale that will help you calibrate your performance. Sometimes, rejection in your life is never meant to diminish you but to elevate you.
