Topic: THE GOLIATH
Word: 1 Samuel 17:4 KJV
“And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.”
Here's My Take:
WHO IS THE GOLIATH TO YOU?
2. Giant (1 Samuel 17:4-7):
There was a man that was buried some time ago in one prominent community in Nigeria. When you look at the picture of the man, you'll see a sweet person, very calm and gentle. Yet the man was a devil. He was very dangerous. Story has it that his work was to eliminate people. When an opponent needs to be eliminated he will be the one that will be sent. And because of him some people ran away from the community. When he died the whole community was rejoicing.
“See eh, not every Goliath appears as a giant physically, but their evil attitude and dangerous character made them giants.”
Before his death, rumors about his death came so many times, and each time people celebrated. This will help you imagine the kind of person he was.
There are men that stood as a Goliath in any environment they came in. They determine what happens in that environment and what goes in and out. Before any investment comes into the place, they will be settled first. Nobody dares to establish anything without consulting and settling them. That's why they're giants.
To be continued...
Conclusion:
The giantness of Goliath is not for the benefit of the people but for his own benefits and glory.
Song: Hymn
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.
Prayer:
Oh Lord remove any Goliath holding our society hostage. In Jesus name. Amen.
