Topic: THE GOLIATH
Word: 1 Samuel 17:4 KJV
“And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. ”
Here's My Take:
WHO IS THE GOLIATH TO YOU?
1. Champion(1Samuel 17:4): Your Goliath wants to be in charge of your life and destiny. Though there are many people you're answerable to, yet he wants more of your loyalty. The Bible said "and there went out A CHAMPION out of the CAMP of the Philistines, named Goliath." What that means is that there are other champions in the same camp of the Philistines. Maybe they choose to play cool.
Maybe they want the battle to be normal where two nations will fight, whether win or lose everybody will go home. But Goliath, the man that wants to be recognized, a man with an entitlement mentality went out from the camp to terrify the other nation.
In your place of assignment, there could be other champions but they're not loud. They may know more than your Goliath but they chose to play cool. They understood that as colleagues you're equal; you're meant to share ideas. As people that live in the same country or compound or community y'all have equal rights. But Goliath will want to be the boss, the champion, the only one to command authority.
Conclusion:
Nobody gave Goliath power to do what he was doing, he collected it because he believed that the people around him were weak. But the time to stop him is now. And you can do that.
Song:
I'm trading my sorrow
I'm trading my shame
I'm laying them down for the joy of the Lord
I'm trading my sickness
I'm trading my pain
I'm laying them down for the joy of the Lord
Prayer:
Lord may I not be terrified by the words and attitude of any Goliath around me. In Jesus name. Amen.
