Topic: THE GOLIATH
Word: 1 Samuel 17:4 KJV
“And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.”
Here's My Take:
WHO IS THE GOLIATH TO YOU?
4. A Talkative (1 Sam. 17:8-11; 42-44):
A man can be accessed through his speeches. The strength or weakness of a man can be easily determined by how he talks. The enemy of a man can find a loophole through his speeches; and that's what David did with Goliath.
Beloved, don't fear your Goliath; look not on his stature, all he has is a mouth and a loud voice. Some time ago, I had a one-on-one confrontation with a colleague. Oh mehn, the guy was too loud; louder than some Nigerian officers! During our confrontation, he went as far as threatening to kill me. He told me that he will travel home to deal with me. As I followed him up, he denied saying that.
As a child of God, and one that has audacity in Christ, I told him to go ahead and travel, but with a promise that he won't return to tell the story. Beloved, don't let the loudness of Goliath dismay you. Goliath talks too much. He also fears too much, if you can stand your ground like David.
Conclusion:
The loudness of Goliath is a sign of fear and not strength.
But the calmness of David is a sign of strength and not weakness.
Song
Waiting to hear the voice of my commander o
Jesus if you call my name, I will answer a billion times
I am a soldier at the battle field
Waiting to hear the voice of my commander o
Jesus if you call my name, I will answer a billion times
Prayer:
Lord, may we not be dismayed by the loudness of Goliath in Jesus name. Amen.
