Topic: THE GOLIATH
Word: 1 Samuel 17:4 KJV
“And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.”
Here's My Take:
WHO IS THE GOLIATH TO YOU?
1. Champion (1 Samuel 17:4):
Do you know that in the time of war between nations, especially in the Old Testament days, Kings are the ones that draw the battle lines? Yes. Kings are the ones that lead the wars. Do you know that the Philistines have a King? I know you've never thought about that! Of course they had, but nobody heard of him or from him. We don't know whether he was black or white, average or another giant. The only name we heard from the Philistines was Goliath.
This too speaks volumes of the people we allow to work under us. When you have a Goliath to work for you or with you, be ready to lose your voice or authority. He will position himself to the point that you'll lose relevance. When the people that come to buy things demand your contact, he will give his. When new members demand to see the Pastor, he will corner them to one side.
Goliath will always want to come out of the camp to show himself even when the King is alive and active. Please don't let him!
Conclusion:
Goliath will always be seen when the King refuses to take his position. I refuse to be the King of Philistines.
