THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT MINISTERIAL DIRECTION:
It Helps a Minister Handle Money Properly. This deserves its own place because financial misconduct has destroyed many ministries. Ministerial direction should include wisdom concerning: offerings, donations, personal finances, accountability, transparency, and stewardship.
A minister should never allow financial opportunity to dictate spiritual decisions.
It Teaches the Difference Between Burden and Assignment. You can see a problem without being the person assigned to solve it.
A minister may carry compassion for many things, but that doesn't mean every burden is their assignment.
It Helps You Know When to Follow and When to Lead. A person who cannot follow properly will struggle to lead properly. Ministry requires both submission and leadership.
There are seasons when you lead and seasons when you learn under someone else.
Conclusion:
Direction teaches wisdom to handle money, because Church money is public money. Ministerial Direction makes us understand that every assignment may carry a burden, but not every burden is an assignment. That's a very important distinction.
