Things to Note About Indoor Ministry
A person may preach to thousands but fail to minister to: their spouse, children, parents, siblings, friends, neighbours, or colleagues. That creates a very important question: What is the value of changing people far away while the people closest to you are consistently neglected?
The first people who experience our ministry should not always be strangers; those closest to us should also experience the love, wisdom, character, and grace we claim to carry. A public platform may reveal a person's gift, but private relationships often reveal their true ministry.
Both Ministries Need Balance
- Indoor Ministry without Outdoor Ministry may limit wider impact.
- Outdoor Ministry without Indoor Ministry may create imbalance and neglect.
The wisdom is knowing how to serve both the people close to you and those God sends you to reach beyond your immediate environment.
Conclusion:
The greatest challenge of indoor ministry is familiarity. Someone who doesn't know you like someone that knows you too well. Someone that doesn't know you may not have anything to hold onto against you, but the person that knows you will find something (whether true or false).
