Topic: THE DIRECTION
Word: 1 Samuel 30:7-8 NLT
Then he said to Abiathar the priest, “Bring me the ephod!” Then David asked the Lord, “Should I chase after this band of raiders? Will I catch them?” And the Lord told him, “Yes..."
Here's My Take:
AREAS WE SEEK FOR DIRECTIONS:
2. Spiritual Direction: Spiritual direction helps a person avoid building wrongly. Without divine direction, a person may spend years building something that does not align with God’s purpose or pattern. Spiritual direction reveals both the wrong and the right paths, but it also helps a person make the right choice.
That is why the Bible says in Deuteronomy 30:19 (NIV):
“…I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.”
This shows that, in spiritual direction, we are not left confused or stranded unlike in other kinds of direction. Divine instructions come with clarity.
One remarkable thing about God is that He never gives direction carelessly. Whenever God gives direction, it is usually connected to purpose, preservation, fulfillment, and manifestation. Gbam!
Conclusion
In spiritual direction, just like every other kind of direction, we still have choices to make. We have the responsibility either to accept what we are told or to reject it.
Song:
Oh, my dear Lord
Let me love what you love
Oh, dear Lord
That is how you designed life to be Lord
Help me Lord to live as I ought to live
Where I have no will
That is separate from your will
Oh Lord take me to the place
Where I have no choice
That is separate from your choice
To be lost in you is my desire
To be all for you is all I want
Prayer: Oh Lord open our spiritual eyes to receive insights and knowledge from You, Lord in Jesus’ name, Amen.
