THE PHARISEES
Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT
"The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses."
Here’s My Take:
HOW TO KNOW A PHARISEE:
4. Someone who is scared of being replaced: nobody ever fits into this like the Pharisees. The Jewish leaders felt threatened by John the Baptist. But that threat could not be compared with what they felt when Jesus showed up.
John did not perform any miracle, except baptizing people. Even though the Jewish leaders felt threatened, at some point they moved on because there was not much difference between them and John.
But when Jesus came into the limelight, everything changed. The Jewish leaders did not perform miracles. John also did not perform miracles. But Jesus, the son of Mary, whose father was a carpenter, came and began doing miracles. Not only that, He also raised the dead. Just imagine! Who wouldn’t feel threatened?
The Jewish leaders checked themselves and could not find any miracle they had performed, except the one where the Angel of God stirred the water and people rushed in. But even that was not their doing. They wondered how someone they knew—when and where He was born—could suddenly become the talk of the town. They became deeply worried.
Conclusion:
"It's only a man that is worthless that won't have people that are scared of his existence. I am worthy.."
Song 🎵
It wasn't easy... It wasn't easy...
It wasn't easy but it was worth it
It wasn't easy... It wasn't easy...
It wasn't easy but it was worth it
Prayer 🙏
Lord deliver us from the hands of the Pharisees. In Jesus name. Amen.
