Topic: THE PHARISEES
Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT
“The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.
Here’s My Take:
Jesus Encounter With The Pharisees:
Still on the attitude of the blind man's neighbors when He told them that “The man they call Jesus made mud and spread it over my eyes and told me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash yourself.’ So I went and washed, and now I can see!” And they asked “where is he now?” and took him to the Pharisees, because it was on the Sabbath that Jesus had made the mud and healed him. John 9:8-14 NLT
There's this Igbo adage that says "Onye ma mmadu wu ya na egbu ya". Meaning that the person that will deal with you, isn't a stranger or an enemy, but someone very close to you. His neighbors chose wickedness instead of celebration. They chose law instead of Thanksgiving.
Same attitude of those blind man's neighbors is still in operation, having so many updated versions. Haven't you heard of the situation where a neighbor will buy a car, expecting his neighbors to rejoice with him, only for them to report him to the Police for questioning. And the police found nothing against him. Remember, the blind man's neighbors still exist around us.
Conclusion:
Wickedness/witchcraft does not have sound, but it's effect is very very loud.
Song:
Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before, O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name
Prayer:
Lord disappoint every household enemy of my life. In Jesus name. Amen.
