THE PHARISEES:

Topic: THE PHARISEES

Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT
“The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.

Here’s My Take:

Jesus Encounter With The Pharisees:

John 9:15-16 NLT
The Pharisees asked the man all about it. So he told them, “He put the mud over my eyes, and when I washed it away, I could see!” Some of the Pharisees said, “This man Jesus is not from God, for he is working on the Sabbath.” Others said, “But how could an ordinary sinner do such miraculous signs?” So there was a deep division of opinion among them.

As I was going through the above Scripture something dropped in my Spirit. It was the trending Tattoo saga of Pastor K. Okonkwo. Just like the above Scripture, The Pharisees didn't care that someone who was bound by the evil spirit of blindness was set free from that spirit by Jesus. Rather what they were after was "working on the Sabbath day".

The same way so many people that have been blessed by the Ministry of Pastor K. Okonkwo overnight forgot everything they have learnt from him and focused on Tattoo. And they accused him of so many things. The Bible said that there were deep divisions amongst them because of diverse opinions. The same way there are divisions in this tattoo matter right now. Probably, it's going to be a message topic coming this Sunday.

Conclusion:
We are too quick to judge and run into conclusions over what doesn't hold water. Yes he is a model, I know. But most of us listen, jump and dance to the music of some of the gospel icons, which have the same tattoo. Yet condemn another person for having same. Well I'm not in support or against, but let's focus on Christ and the assignment given to us. Shalom.

Song:
My faith has found a resting place,
Not in device nor creed.
I trust the ever-living One;
His wounds for me shall plead.

Refrain:
I need no other argument,
I need no other plea,
It is enough that Jesus died,
And that he died for me.

Prayer:
Lord let no Pharisaic nature be found in me. In Jesus name. Amen.
