“The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.
Here’s My Take:
Jesus Encounter With The Pharisees:
Jesus told his disciples and said, “Beware of these teachers of religious law! For they like to parade around in flowing robes and love to receive respectful greetings as they walk in the marketplaces. And how they love the seats of honor in the synagogues and the head table at banquets. Yet they shamelessly cheat widows out of their property and then pretend to be pious by making long prayers in public. Because of this, they will be severely punished.” Luke 20:45-47 NLT
Have you been in an event before and you see how some people parade themselves and you ask yourself if there's any atom of humility in them? The way they will be dragging positions in an event will make you want to give up.
One refused to join others and sit on the high table, just because the other person's name was mentioned before his. Another one wanted to support an event with a big amount of money. But when he noticed that someone was recognized before him, he withdrew his support.
Conclusion:
There are so many people that carry Pharisaic nature everywhere they go and in everything they do. If they're into ministry, business, government, etc, you'll see that nature fully occupies them.
