THE PHARISEES

Here’s My Take:

Jesus Encounter With The Pharisees:

Still on what happened the next day when Jesus arrived at Lazarus house. The Bible said "the news that Jesus was on the way to Jerusalem swept through the city. A large crowd of Passover visitors took palm branches and went down the road to meet him. That large crowd was the issue.

The Pharisees were not concerned about the Disciples. They were not concerned about Jesus or his mission to Jerusalem. It doesn't concern them and they don't care. What was there utmost concern was the crowd that came to meet him. This reminds of what happened few years ago. When Pastor Jerry Eze of NSPPD went to Ghana for a crusade.

Report has it that Hundredth of Thousands of people were in attendance. As people were celebrating the move of God, a Pastor from that country got offended by the crowd he saw. His annoyance was not with God nor the preacher. But with the crowd. In his words, he said if it were a Ghanaian Pastor that came to Nigeria, will such crowd come out. Pharisees interests are always in the crowd.

Conclusion

When a Pharisee (Pastor, Evangelist, priest, etc) is interested in the crowd and not in the purpose/mission. He will lose sight of the move (Grace, Glory and Power) of God.
