Topic: THE PHARISEES
Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT
“The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.
Here’s My Take:
Jesus Encounter With The Pharisees:
Look at this "for the second time they called in the man who had been blind and told him, “God should get the glory for this, because we know this man Jesus is a sinner.” “I don’t know whether he is a sinner,” the man replied. “But I know this: I was blind, and now I can see!” “But what did he do?” they asked. “How did he heal you?” John 9:24-26 NLT
It didn't end there. Because they were confused about that miracle. They do not believe that a man born blind could see. So they asked the man “But what did he do?” they asked. “How did he heal you?” The question is becoming too much. The man exclaimed “Look! “I told you once. Didn’t you listen? Why do you want to hear it again? Do you want to become his disciple, too?”
To cover up their curiosity they cursed him and said, “You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses! We know God spoke to Moses, but we don’t even know where this man comes from.” 9:26-29 NLT
Conclusion:
The Pharisees saw what was bigger than them, instead of coming to Jesus to learn, they chose to cut corners. They tried to find out what he did and how he did it. But the man gave them an amazing response. And shame couldn't allow them.
Song:
Amazing God
Amazing God ooh
You always come through for me
Amazing God.
Prayer:
Lord may our miracles be a puzzle to our enemies. In Jesus name. Amen.
