Topic: THE PHARISEES
Word: Matthew 23:2 NLT
“The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses.
Here’s My Take:
Jesus Encounter With The Pharisees:
After Jesus finished telling the parable of the evil farmers. The Bible said The teachers of religious law and the leading priests wanted to arrest Jesus immediately because they realized he was telling the story against them—they were the wicked farmers. But they were afraid of the people’s reaction. Luke 20:19 NLT
At the course of this teaching, I have been able to see the weight of the people, especially how it affects the decisions the teachers of religious law and leading priests make. Going through all the encounters the teachers of religious law and others had with Jesus, you’ll notice that they didn’t do anything without considering the people.
They were always afraid of the people’s reactions whenever they wanted to take any decision. Even until Jesus’ crucifixion, they were able to arrest and crucify Him because they were able to deceive, convince, and manipulate the people. That was why, when the people shouted, “Crucify Him!” their voices were heard.
Conclusion:
The reason why Africa is still in a mess today is because the people are being deceived, convinced, confused, manipulated, and used by the Pharisees leading our nations. Until the people take their place, things will never change.
Song:
Shout Jesus from the mountains
Jesus in the streets
Jesus in the darkness, over every enemy
Jesus for my family
I speak the holy name
Jesus, oh
Prayer:
Lord cause the voice of the people to be heard in our nations. In Jesus name. Amen.
