Here, the wise man didn't forbid studying, rather he's throwing a caution towards excessive studying. Study with guide. Study for a purpose. Study to improve your life, health, business, wealth, etc.
Be careful of what you read and how you read. For there are people that are mad today as a result of the content of books they read. I know of a Christian girl, a daughter of a Pastor, that read books to the point that she declared that there's no God.
Never forget that each book has the Spirit of the writer. That's why the Bible remains the Best Book in the whole world. Because it carries the Spirit of the Living God.
Also remember that if the Bible is read out of context, it can be dangerous too. Let the Holy Spirit guide you.
