Then the sailors picked Jonah up and threw him into the raging sea, and the storm stopped at once!

Here's My Take:

What Jonah stands...

2. Deception:
The storm didn’t come because of ignorance — it came because of deception. Jonah represents hidden sin wrapped in religious excuses. He didn’t lie with words; he lied with silence. Sometimes, silence can be louder than confession. Jonah could have spoken earlier, but pride sealed his lips.

That’s how deception grows — when truth is delayed. He watched others struggle while knowing the cause of their pain. Deception always makes others suffer for what you refuse to admit. It hides the truth until God Himself exposes it.

When the lot finally fell on Jonah, he could no longer pretend. Every deception has an expiry date. The truth may sleep for a while, but it always wakes up. Jonah’s calmness fooled everyone — until the storm spoke the truth he tried to hide.

Conclusion:
No matter how well you hide deception, the truth will always find its way out. Choose to live honestly before God and man. It’s better to walk in truth and be free than to dwell in deception and be destroyed.

Song:
And I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

Prayer:
Lord, may we not be deceived by Jonah. In Jesus. Amen.
