Topic: Don't Pity Jonah!

Word: ‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭Jonah 1:15 NLT

Then the sailors picked Jonah up and threw him into the raging sea, and the storm stopped at once!

Here's My Take:

What Jonah stands...

4. Disobedience:

Jonah stands for Disobedience. The Bible says: “Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh. Announce my judgment against it because I have seen how wicked its people are.” But Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction to get away from the Lord. He went down to the port of Joppa, where he found a ship heading to Tarshish. He bought a ticket and went on board, hoping to escape from the Lord by sailing to Tarshish.

But the Lord hurled a powerful wind over the sea, causing a violent storm that threatened to break the ship apart. Jonah 1:2–4 NLT. Jonah chose to escape from the Lord instead of obeying Him. Jonah was not just any man roaming the streets. He was a prophet of God—a man who understood the power, the authority, and the sovereignty of God.

Yet with all his understanding of God, he still chose disobedience. When the name. Jonah is mentioned today, people remember: A man who chose to flee from God instead of obeying Him. A man who preferred to be thrown into the sea rather than submit to God’s will. A man who actually thought he could escape from the presence of God.

Conclusion:

Can anyone disobey God and go scot-free? Can anyone truly escape from God? Check this out: Psalm 139:7–12; Jeremiah 23:24.

Song:

God will work it out

God will work it out

One thing I know

One thing I've found

God will work it out (whoa)

Oh, yes, he will

Oh, things are coming together

Prayer:

Lord, may my Blessings and Favours not be delayed by any Jonah. In Jesus. Amen
