Word: ‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭Jonah 1:15 NLT

Then the sailors picked Jonah up and threw him into the raging sea, and the storm stopped at once!

Here's My Take:

What Jonah stands...

3. Delay:

The Bible says:

“But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD…

Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.”— Jonah 1:3, 17 KJV

Looking at the verses above, one will realize that it must have taken Jonah more days—apart from the three days in the fish—before God’s instructions finally got to Nineveh. While reflecting on this, I began to wonder how many things that truly belong to me have been delayed by people who were supposed to bring them.

I thought about promises upon promises that never saw the light of day. I thought about the people whose hearts God stirred to be of value or help to me, but they chose to ignore that divine prompting. All I can see is a picture of Jonah running away from the responsibility God placed on him.

Conclusion:

Don’t pity any “Jonah” at all unless you are prepared to wait longer than required.

A Jonah does not care about anything or anyone but his or her own interest.

Song:

For he has done so very much for me

What shall I render to Jehovah?

For he has done so very much for me

Prayer:

Lord, may my Blessings and Favours not be delayed by any Jonah. In Jesus. Amen
