Topic: When Beauty Fades, What Next?!
Word: Proverbs 31:30 NLT
Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.
Here's My Take:
When Beauty Fades, What Next?! We'll be looking at what is likely going to happen when Beauty Fades.
5. Abandonment:
When Beauty Fades, what does it mean? I remember certain people that gave almost their all for their country, but their country later forgot them as if they never existed; as if what they did wasn't worth it. When their Beauty was Beautiful, their country saw them as assets. They became useful to her, but when they couldn't give her their energy again, she turned her back against them.
One of the examples was the late Nigeria Player, Sam Okparaji. He collapsed and died of congestive heart failure in the 77th minute of a World Cup qualification match against Angola at the Lagos National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos State on 12 August 1989.
According to Google, "he was given a heroic burial in his hometown, and a statue was erected at the National Stadium in Lagos where he died".....because I was not there, I was still young. But the documentary I saw a few years ago shows that his status and legacy was abandoned. His old mother was crying that she was abandoned too.
Conclusion:
Some countries, especially Nigeria lives by the survival of the fittest.
Song:
Holy words long preserved
for our walk in this world,
They resound with God's own heart
Oh, let the Ancient words impart.
Words of Life, words of Hope
Give us strength, help us cope
In this world, where e'er we roam
Ancient words will guide us Home.
Ancient words ever true
Changing me, and changing you.
We have come with open hearts
Oh let the ancient words impart.
Prayer:
Lord, may we not only be relevant when we are alive. Amen.
