Topic: Don't Pity Jonah!

Here's My Take:
Intro:
There's an attitude that I saw in Jonah that I would want us to look at. The Bible said that Jonah said to the Lord, “Just kill me now, Lord! I’d rather be dead than alive if what I predicted will not happen.” Then the Lord replied, “Is it right for you to be angry about this?” Jonah 4:3-4 NLT.
That line “if what I predicted” is where my interest is. The question is: who predicted? Whose words are they? Did Jonah predict, or did he say what he was told to say? This is the significance of so many preachers today. The little word of knowledge or revelation they got, they turned it into theirs. Just like Jonah, you'll hear them say “I said. Instead of God said”
There are cases where you'll hear people arguing about who prayed/prophesied first before that thing happened. Some will tell us how they changed someone's future and destiny because they prayed for him/her. This is why Jonah was claiming ownership of the word of God he was asked to deliver. And he was claiming ownership of the word to the owner of the word… “if what I predicted will not happen.” Just imagine!
Conclusion:
What we are, are just instruments/tools in God's hands and nothing more. And He can choose to use us or drop us.
