Here's My Take:
Intro:
Is like Jonah had anger issues, and he didn't know how to use words. Any little thing, he would get angry, and the next thing, he'll say “I wish I were dead.” Apart from that, he was very, very stubborn. Despite being questioned by God for getting angry because He (God) didn't destroy the people of Nineveh as he presumed, Jonah was still waiting to see if God would change His mind over Nineveh.
The Bible said that “Jonah had gone out and sat down at a place east of the city. There he made himself a shelter, sat in its shade and waited to see what would happen to the city.” (Jonah 4:5 NIV). He was waiting to see what would happen. Instead of returning home or finding out from God the next assignment, he went and sat comfortably, waiting to see destruction.
This is how enemies wait when they hear good news about you. They'll say to themselves, “let’s watch and see.” They'll comfortably wait, eagerly, to see the end of that good news. Jonah might have stepped out, but he's still somewhere waiting to hear cries.
Conclusion:
Remember that Jonah that danced with you when you bought that your new car is waiting to hear bad news about you. That Jonah that played a significant role on your wedding day is actually waiting to see crises in that marriage.
