Topic: Don't Pity Jonah!
Word: Jonah 1:15 NLT
Then the sailors picked Jonah up and threw him into the raging sea, and the storm stopped at once!
Here's My Take:
Intro:
There are so many lessons to draw from the man Jonah, and we ain't rushing it. So let's take it gradually. If you have your Bible or you know this part of the Jonah story, then check it out or you recall what happened in (Jonah 3:4 to 4:1-3 NLT). There's a place the Bible said "On the day Jonah entered the city, he shouted to the crowds: “Forty days from now Nineveh will be destroyed!”
Who knows what he was expecting?! Maybe he thought he was speaking to the woke generation or their GenZ counterpart. People that believe anything done on the social media apps, than what the Bible is saying.
He thought that they would remain disobedient and stubborn like the People of Israel. Maybe, he thought that they'll be arguing if God is going to destroy them again with water or with fire alone or will He add brimstone to the fire. So that after they are done arguing, forty days will come. But to his utmost surprise, they all repented, including their King. Bros Jonah provoke!
To be continued...
Conclusion:
Imagine having someone acting like he wants you to succeed in life. But when he sees you making progress, he gets angry. If you have or know such a person, then you're seeing Bros Jonah.
Song:
Treasure of my heart and of my soul
In my weakness you are merciful
Redeemer of my past and present wrongs
Holder of my future days to come
Your presence is heaven to me
God, Your presence is heaven to me
There's nothing like Your presence
Your presence is heaven to me
Prayer:
May those that want me to remain in my weakness so that God will destroy me, be disappointed! Amen.
