But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
If Christ didn't die for us, we wouldn't have gotten a proof that God loved us.
Also, if we don't die to the world and the lust thereof, people around us won't get any proof that we have been with Christ.
