Here's My Take:
"WHAT IF" keeps us in check for the Future. It makes us think about tomorrow. It helps us not to finish the future in the now. It makes us have control over our appetite and desires. It puts us in check of our excesses and helps us curtail wastage
One of the reasons why so many African nations, especially Nigeria are still in bondage today is because WHAT IF is not in their minds. According To History, the major source of revenue for Nigeria years ago was Palm Oil. But because of Crude Oil the overlooked Palm Oil, and never invested in it.
Now Crude Oil is the latest, yet there's no WHAT IF in their minds. They thought Crude Oil would last forever. They don't want to invest in Agriculture, Technology, things that have no end. Because they have seen Crude. WHAT IF this crude end this year, what next?
Conclusion:
If you want to know a nation that has no future, she will depend on one source of revenue to sustain her citizens. But any nation that has multiples of revenue has a future.
