Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
Here's My Take:
"WHAT IF" mindset will help you to stay in Church because of God, and not because of what you'll get from the Church. I have seen people that joined a particular church because of certain expectations. I have seen people that thought that that was the only reason people attend certain Churches.
During my NYSC(National Youth Service Corps) year, I was privileged to attend a Church where some of their members are very rich. I remember one that has an Oil Company(indigenous), etc. One day when we were about to go for Church Service, a fellow Corp Member said we were going there because of job employment.
I told him "if it were as easy as you thought, we would be glad to remain their members". That was his thought, but it doesn't happen like that. Maybe some of us had such thoughts, but I already knew that such opportunities don't come by chance. I never allowed it to occupy my mind.
Conclusion:
WHAT IF taught us to do things (especially in the House of God) without waiting for physical rewards. For God is the only one that knows how to connect Men. And He does that when He sees your genuineness and hard work in His house.
