Topic: WHAT IF?
Word: Proveebs 16:18a
Pride goeth before destruction.
Here's My Take:
WHAT IF will make you not to feel guilty when you fail or remain guilty when you fall or faulter. It will make you not feel ashamed to start all over/from the scratch. It will make you know your limits, to avoid unnecessary hazards trying to prove a point.
I was listening to a Preacher, he was condemning the way someone will be telling his audience how he prayed for 9hrs, 10hrs, etc. He said that such information could put some of his audience under pressure. Making them want to beat such records.
Fasting for 40 days and nights isn't bad, but it is your personal thing, therefore it should be kept personal. When you were about to start such a spiritual journey, you didn't tell anyone. But as soon as you're done, we won't hear word again. Everyone will hear about it, why?
Conclusion:
If you want to encourage people to pray, pour out your heart to them and tell them to fast. But tell them how to do it and not what you did. Because "There's a thin line between testimony and pride"
Song:
Don't think for a moment
I never felt the pain
You can't imagine
The hurt and the shame
They put the nails through my hands
Pierced my side, please understand
It wasn't easy, but it was worth it
It wasn't easy
It wasn't easy
It wasn't easy but it was worth it
Prayer:
Lord help us not to say things we shouldn't say in Jesus name. Amen.
