Topic: Recommendation Birth Condemnation
Word: Acts 12:22-23 NIV
They shouted, “This is the voice of a god, not of a man.” Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.
Here's My Take:
Example Of Recommendation That Birth Condemnation:
Biblical Characters:
1. King Herod: They shouted, “This is the voice of a god, not of a man.” Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.
Acts 12:20-23 NIV
What I can decode from what happened to Herod there was the pride of the heart. He lifted himself up amidst the shout. Who knows what he was telling himself when the people were shouting.
You know that man's thought is faster than the speed of light. Within a minute hundredth of thoughts can run through the mind of a person. That's what I guess happened to Herod. Amidst the cheers, he Exalted himself above himself. And God heard him. Immediately he was struck down.
Conclusion:
Men and Brethren, I repeat again "God may keep you quiet when you're acting proud or arrogant. He may keep you quiet when you're battling with sins. But He won't keep calm watching anyone tamper with His Glory."
Song:
Nations are waiting
The people are hungry o
The master is in need of vessels
So I pledge my allegiance
To the one who has called me o
I will make Jesus proud
We'll be many o
We'll be many o
We'll be many o
Prayer:
Lord may we not take Your Praise/place in Jesus name. Amen.
