Topic: Recommendation Birth Condemnation
Word: 1 Kings 11:3-4 ESV
He had 700 wives, who were princesses, and 300 concubines. And his wives turned away his heart. For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and his heart was not wholly true to the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.
Here's My Take:
Example Of Recommendation That Birth Condemnation:
Biblical Characters:
4. King Solomon: Based on the Biblical Recommendation of King Solomon, he was the wisest man on earth. He was Rich and generous. Neat and meticulous. Well organized and lovely personality. Romantic and energetic. No wonder one thousand women refused to leave him alone.
Permit me to say that the above recommendations was what distracted his reign. This is a man that God told not to marry from the neighborhood. God was aware how weak Solomon was; he wasn't too strong willed, he can be easily dislodged.
You know, as a young man, he was never bred through war, unlike his brother Absolom. And he also as a King, did not engage in much battle. Maybe while he was very young, he was liked by so many girls. And God seeing all these things, knew that as a King women will come to him more. God instructed him not to marry foreign women, so that he won't be confused.
Conclusion:
One thing I have learnt about God is that He doesn't give instructions without a reason.
Song:
You are here
Moving in our midst
I worship you
I worship you
You are here
Working in this place
I worship you
I worship you
Way maker
Miracle worker
Promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God
Prayer:
Lord may I not get involved with what will distract me from you in Jesus name. Amen.
