Here's My Take:
Intro..
CATALYST: Yesterday, according to Dictionary we saw the Chemistry definition of a Catalyst as "a substance that causes or accelerates a chemical reaction without itself being affected". But we're not actually taking our study from the Chemistry point of view, but how it relates to us and the events(life, situation, character) that surrounds us.
So Dictionary defined it again as "something that causes activity between two or more persons or forces without itself being affected". This one too sounds like the first one. But let me break it down with an example.
Example is, when a poor person is mistakenly killed by any Government force, and the Government decided to take care of the family he left behind. That situation brought change(help, liberation, etc) to the family, but the situation that led to that didn't change. His family are enjoying, but his life can not be recovered.
Conclusion:
Everyday of our lives, we meet and pass our catalysts without knowing it. But any day Grace brings us in contact with them, our lives will drastically change for good. Then we'll say we met opportunity.
