Here's My Take:
WHY DO PEOPLE CROSS SPIRITUAL BOUNDARY:
2. Zeal: Zeal is one of the factors that have led to crossing of spiritual boundary. So many people because of their zeal to work, never know when they overshoot things. This is what usually happens when someone always receive recommendation for being very zealous, if he doesn't watch it, the Joy of such praises will push him/her to overdo things.
It's not always easy to keep up being ahead, especially when/where you have been regarded as the best. That effort to remain on top will be a problem when mismanaged. Being zealous is very good but it can drive one crazy, making the person want to over show him/herself.
Zeal can make one wanna drag seat with his Boss(Pastor, employer, etc). Because Zeal can make him see himself as a better option. Zeal coupled with commendation can make one lose focus. Those two will be driving him.

Conclusion:
Zeal can make a slave ride the chariot of his master. Most zealous people are not humble people; you'll find traces of arrogance and pride in them.
