ii). His beliefs: Evil doesn't attack any other thing but good. Because opposite of Good is evil. Evil doesn't attack riches, prosperity, success, happiness, unless good is attached to them, like good success, good prosperity, etc.
That's why satan can not keep quiet seeing that you have made up your mind to be a good person, not to mention being a child of God. It makes him restless seeing people doing good works, living godly/goodly life.
This is why most times you'll hear people say, "why are bad(evil) things always happening to good people" or "why good people always die early?". Well the answer is not far away; the answer is because evil attack good. Job was a good man, satan knew that, that's why he afflicted him.
Conclusion:
If you understand the impact of of temptation in the life of a Christian when s/he overcomes, you'll appreciate the importance of living the life of goodness.
