4. Neighborhood:

Two things I think people should avoid if they want to be happy in their neighborhood is: 

1. Neglecting neighbors: don't even think about it, not to mention doing it. So many people may tell you reasons why they wanna do that, but there's no enough excuse that should that should make you neglect them.

No matter how bad your hood is, there's one person that'll get your fancy. No matter how rough and rascal people are in your neighborhood, there's definitely one person you can confide in. Everyone in our neighborhood are not the same, though they may seem to be living same kind of life. Note that.

The one and better way to avoid this is to stop generalizing; stop assuming until you've met every single one of them. You may be surprised to see someone who has same mindset like you; that thought that everybody, including you is evil, yet you're not.

Conclusion:

 In any environment you may enter, don't conclude or assume, just take your time to study them, while you avoid the temptation of neglecting them.
