Giving God pleasure is a necessity for every living thing; when we engage in doing so, it will separate us totally from others. Because we'll always draw His attention.
In the time of Mary, the mother of Jesus, I doubt there were no other righteous virgin ladies, yet marry was chosen. Maybe in their time, she was the only virgin that had extra oil; just saying anyways. But am very sure that she gave God pleasure.
Because opportunities like this doesn't come twice, it will require proper scrutinizing, and it fell on Marry. Giving God pleasure draws special attention from Him, which will surely come with mandates and blessings.
Conclusion:
Giving God pleasure depends on our availability and decision, not on the position we occupy in Church.
