Here's My Take:
How to know Spiritual Long-sighted people:
1. They'll want to give you advice, but won't take yours: When you see this set of people you'll know; just few minutes around them will tell you who they are. They can never hide, because that attitude has eaten very deep in them.
Those days, my late father used to have a friend like that. He'll tell you thousands of people he'd told what to do, and what happened after they did that. But he won't take any word from anybody.
So in case you see such people around you, it's either you listen to them and them alone. Or you avoid them.
Conclusion:
Never try to convince anybody to listen to you; when all s/he does is to speak all the time.
