Finally on this subject..
I have learnt over the years that there are ways to bring out the best service of everyone. Even if it's during the time of Weakness or just on ordinary period. I learnt that from my parents, especially my Dad. Whenever he wants you to do more than your usual, he'll start calling you sweet names; Nna, Daddy, Bobo, etc. The names works like magic, how strength will come is what I could not tell. You'll see yourself pushing your limit. But when you're done exhausting that name you were called, you become tired again. Lols
Another system he uses is gifting. This part is my favorite: when he found out that there are lots of things to do, but strength is depreciating, he'll bring out something nice and the energy will come back again. The third he does is to make a good promise; which he'll fulfill. This always comes when he's expecting the best from you. Especially, academically.
The reason why I mentioned all these, is because to get the best service of anybody, you have some roles to play. The roles could be what I'd listed, it could be another thing. Everything is not by the use of force and muscle. That your ward could be the best if you'll try some of that. There are some people, just one outing will change them forever.
Conclusion:
There's a key to every heart, it's all about you finding the right one.
